Live Bait’s oh so sweet sixteen! Weed in Illinois! It’s not 4.0!

Hello and welcome to this 🚨 emergency edition 🚨 of Jam Sandwich, which is here because, well, we have fresh music.

Take the Bait

Phish dropped Live Bait Vol. 16 on us on Friday and lemme tell ya IT IS GOOD.

The Forbin’s takes us on a journey, the Canadian Ghost is extra spooky, the Meat is very well done and good lord, that Camden Sand is fucking delightful.

Scott Marks notes none of the shows, all pre-hiatus, are previously available on Live Phish.

7/3/2000 was one of my first shows (third?) and while I’ll always cherish that first set Bathtub Gin lightning storm with Kuroda going bonkers on the lights, it’s that second set that truly launched me into the clouds.

Also I think I was soaked for days.

Chicago Haze

Illinois politicians just passed their plan to legalize recreational marijuana by statue — not ballot measure, which has been easier for states with enough people who like the sticky icky — which is an enormous feat.

It now heads to the governor’s desk where it will provide a new blueprint for states that haven’t taken any action of their own yet (HELLO NEW YORK, GOD HELP US).

What’s in the plan:

The House on Friday passed a plan that, once signed into law, will allow Illinois residents 21 and older to legally buy marijuana from licensed dispensaries and possess any combination of: up to 30 grams (roughly one ounce) of cannabis, as much as 500 milligrams of THC in a cannabis-infused product, and up to five grams of cannabis concentrate.

Apparently this is a cannabis newsletter now too. Neat!

The Shakedown

Amazon just dropped the price on Phish’s Baker’s Dozen 6LP vinyl set to a pretty bonkers $68.69. That’s $8 cheaper than when I snagged mine and $50 cheaper (!) than you’ll find it on Dry Goods. Snag it here.

That’s all I got! Enjoy your weekend.
